April 2007, Biometric identification - PalmSecure
PalmSecure
Biometric scanners have been around for years now, but they have yet to be used in a ticketing context. The newest invention comes from Fujitsu, they have developed a palm
scanner that recognises blood flow. Biometric scanning technology has a major advantage that could be implemented in ticketing: Beside the fact that the owner can be clearly identified, there is
definably no possibility to loose the ticket or transfer/resell it to another individual.
We see the possible operational areas in membership systems e.g. football club season ticket holders and cash less payment systems.
